I thought I had enjoyed peat with Lagavulin, now this is really different with this Cory. I found Lag was possibly rounder.
This, on the other hand is totally upfront and potent. Medicinal on the nose, with some dried apricots, smokey and petrol with a hint of maritime scent.
The palate is like fireworks. The alcohol is indeed high (57%ABV) and brings a tingle on my tongue but in a pleasant way adding a new dimension to the palate. The notes felt (for me) and found are very savoury (bacon, charred meat on a BBQ), and mostly chocolate, tobacco and leather.
To note this my first tasting since opening this brand new bottle and looking forward to seeing it evolve with time.
