Our house is literally getting torn apart top to bottom at the moment and rebuilt so cooking is a bit hard so friends kindly invited us over and offered us a feed the day after lockdown was over and we were able to socialize. He cracked this open which was part of a triple 200ml set from the NZ Whiskey Company. It's a lighterstyle refill oak and you can pick the grain influence. Nice to taste a slice of history. Will have to break open my 21 year from this distillery one day.

@PBMichiganWolverine Was meant to start earlier in December but between the architect and council things dragged for months then we lost another month to Covid-19 lockdown where no building was allowed. On the good side though it rained a lot up to February through summer and we had very little rain in autumn so worked out well. Winter starts next month but it's generally not to cold where we live. a cold day or night is generally 46 farenheit. Ultracold which is rare 37 f. We only get a frost once every year or two. Never gets too hot in summer generally 80 f is as hot as it gets. It's cos we live by the sea moderates the temperature a lot. Other places in nz get a lot colder and a lot hotter
Isn’t it beginning of winter there? House remodeling in winter?
