Nose is sweet with vanilla, sour mash and baking spices. A bit hot on the palate with heavy barrel char, oak, leather, cinnamon and pepper with a relatively short earthy/spicy finish. Seems a bit unique. Not a personal favorite but if not for the rarity could consider paying MSRP but not much above.

It was given to him as a wedding present and comes out once a year. The push toward earthy/spicy/Smokey is a welcome change. It leaves me looking forward to trying it again...
I really like this at MSRP (good luck, I know, although my current bottle came that way) and find it the most interesting of the standard issue ETL & Blantons lineage by a good margin. That additional spice makes all the difference, but also a bit less of the sweet crowd pleaser that helped solidify the Blantons hype train.
Good lord I hope your buddy didn't pay $250! Have seen several in the $120 and even at that price I personally walk away!
