This is about $12. You should take your $12, and instead buy dozen gallon jugs of water. That’s much better than this.
So, since I only have 1 or 2 pours /week, and on weekends only, I opened this up yesterday. I made two concoctions for this:
The first was taking lemongrass and honey, and boiling it in water to make a lemongrass syrup. The second was taking lemon and sugar, and boiling that to make a lemon syrup. I cooled both for several hours. Then I took 2 ounces of this with 1 ounce of the syrup, some ice, a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar, and shook it all up. Both cocktails were horrible. The 2 ounce of this base was too herbal, like spoiled basil leaves. The syrups by themselves were amazing, especially the lemongrass...it was this base that smelled like a dirty sock.
Ended up throwing away the bottle...

@cascode Yes I like a East Imperial grapefruit tonic. Just open bottle and pour :-). I find generally now gin is often not adding much for me to the experience however that method and madness edition definitely did. Very good value to
@PBMichiganWolverine Ah yes I gave it a generous 3.5 but then I gave the bottle away pretty quick so I think my score went downhill after the first taste!
@Soba45 Agreed. This is a pointless, dilettante product riding on the wave of spirits enthusiasm. Plain tonic is way better as a non-alcoholic cooler, and if you want more flavour just add a slice of citrus or a dash of bitters, etc.
@Soba45 their Spice is palatable and decent when mixed with lime or lemon —-but this one was really unbearable
I gave all my bottles away and just drank straight tonic..zero point actually making the tonic worse!
@Richard-ModernDrinking yeah...I’m sticking to my weeknight routine of kombucha or green tea. This was bad. Honestly, it smelled like basil that’s been left out to spoil.
When will you learn? I have a small bottle of this that only warranted one pour. Stick to kombucha!
