George Dickel 13 Year Bottled in Bond Tennessee Whisky (Fall 2005)
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA

Heavy nose of peanut, peanut butter, and pecan pie. Hints of peach and candied pear. Subtler hits of dried cherry, chocolate, and cola.
Peanut butter and chocolate palate. Long, spicy finish. Cinnamon and clove. Sweet, but not overly so. A bit woodsey. Heavy feeling body.
Phenomenal at $36 retail MSRP. Less so at $90 shipped, as this was. The Barrel Select is slightly better/smoother, easier to come by, and half the price. But it was a gift, so can't complain.

Just saw 95 pts for the 11 year from Whisky Advocate. Might drive some sales. Will be interesting to watch.
I had one local store that still had 4-5 bottles of the 13 year every time I went in, and at $60 too. A month or so ago, only 2 left and then $80. Figured now or never if I want it again, so I bought one and shelved it to be shared with the buddy who sent me the first one. Last time in, they still had the SKU and shelf space for the 13, but no bottles. Guessing next time, no trace left. Plenty of 11 around though.
...just a clarification. Overflowing with the new 11yr version. The 13yr is long gone.
Barrel Select is about $10 more around here. Pickings are slim on the BIB in some areas, but the shelf at my new favorite store is overflowing with them at $36.
This is great, but I've read a few times that the Barrel Select is about on the same level. Great to hear more confirmation of that!
