It smells sweet and toasty with some alcohol presence. The palate is thinner than expected with more alcohol, but there is some interesting wood and dark chocolate mixed with some nice raisins and cherry. It's not full enough and has too much alcohol, but the core flavors are quite good. Butterscotch is there a little and there are some lovely spices. There's a bit of unpleasant mint that exacerbates the alcohol. It's not really all the way to sippable, unfortunately. The more I drink though, the more the wood and spices take the fore. There's plenty of cinnamon but also a fair dose of clove. The sweetness of the butterscotch doesn't entirely fall to the back. There's some nicely hedonistic qualities here, but it's still a bit dry and weak with too much alcohol. I really want to love it, but it doesn't meet my expectations with its tremendous amount of alcohol.
