Have read many favorable reviews so decided to give a try. $25 on sale so decent price but no age statement to be found. Poured neat, noses buttery malt and grain with light apple and mild spice. Its similar to Deanston Virgin Oak but not as rich or full. Soft mouthfeel leads palate of sweet malt and grain, warm buttered rolls, oak and smoked heavy char with more light apple. Again profile is in line with the Deanston but has some grain alcohol notes. Finishes with drying oak and strong char with lingering light malt sweetness. Overall its actually really tasty scotch albeit with some blend drawbacks. This profile of little fruit and no peat focusing more on the malt is a preference of mine. I do feel Pigs Nose is better than entry level scotch blends like JW red or Dewars white and others. Beats lower tier stuff for sure . Would consider repurchase at $25ish or less however over that I would kick in the extra for single malt and not deal with the grain alcohol...........78/100........if they could just smooth out some of the edges this would be a real solid scotch....its still good, I like the butter, malt and char..........bottle gets better and better over time

@Zachary-Robbins I haven’t tried either one yet. I was thinking about sampling the Ezra Brooks tonight. Not really in a scotch mood. If I do I will definitely review.
@BDanner How are Lag8 and Ezra Brooks? I may have to take a special trip north.
@Zachary-Robbins I found the Lag8, the Pig’s Nose, and the Ezra Brooks in Wytheville. There was a pretty large display of them so you may have just been before they got it in. The Yamazaki 12 I found in Tazewell.
@BDanner Where in VA did you go? I recently stopped at a couple in Danville and wasn't impressed, but I did pick up Legent. I wish I saw that Ezra Brooks and Lag8y.
You forgot to first give it a good swirl, throw it on the floor and then refill before tasting
I was traveling in VA this week and popped in to a couple ABC’s to see if they had things I cannot get here in NC. I saw this one and thought you had reviewed it positively, so I picked it up. In addition, I found a LAG8, and a Yamazaki 12 that I had never had the opportunity to buy at MSRP. They also had an Ezra Brooks Distillers Selection (which I’ve never seen) for VA ABC. Add that to a bourbon and maple flavored corn whiskey from a distillery tour and I should have several reviews coming.
@Ctrexman no i haven't
@Jose-Massu-Espinel Its decent for a blend, nothing spectacular. Sheep Dip is similiar profile if youve ever had that
dying to try this one
