Not a huge fan of this, despite the fact that I enjoy Jim beam white label. I am also a fan of really ‘oaky’ bourbon, such as Woodford Double Oaked. But the Double Oaked method doesn’t really work in this product, it just comes off as bitter. The nose, to me is mostly just ethanol, mixed with normal Jim beam. The palate is regular Jim beam, vanilla bourbon, but with that bitter note in it. I would rather have a bottle of regular Jim beam. It’s a good idea, but the Double Oak doesn’t deliver.
