Tamdhu Batch Strength Batch 003

There are immediately several flavors coming out. The drink is rich with a bit much alcohol flavor. There is notable leather here and some bitterness of tobacco, but there are also red fruit notes, spices, and chocolate. The strength and punch make it taste a bit bourbon, but with an impressive amount of age. The alcohol is a bit much and I wish that the finish were a bit sweeter, but it's appropriate as a bourbon and doesn't have that awful cinnamon burn. It reminds me a bit of Booker's. It has some faults and is surprisingly bourbony, but this is still a really good whiskey. The has some nice complexity, but too much alcohol. That said, I wish that more bourbons followed it's example. That said, it's a bit costly for its quality as a bourbon.

@ContemplativeFox I picked it up for 90, Which is the same price I see bookers at, when I rarely see it. I can include a sample, if you want to compare to your bottle of batch four.
Also because it's a rare cask strength scotch
@soonershrink Ah, I do see your confusion here. I went overboard in the comparison with bourbons here, mainly because I was thinking about the value and trying to reconcile how much I liked it with how expensive scotch is relative to bourbon.
@ContemplativeFox oh, sorry, it sounded like you were describing a bourbon in the review. Found this one on a shelf locally and was just checking out reviews.
@soonershrink Thanks for pointing it out. This actually is for the correct one - I tried batch 3 in a bar and own a bottle of batch 4 (which I've opened, but have not tried yet).
FYI, this appears to be posted for the wrong whiskey.
