The nose of the bourbon is largely composed of licorice and sweet mint. There is a very faint wisp of banana in it as well. On the tongue the whiskey posseses a fruity spice. It has an oily mouthfeel that, though unexpected, is not unpleasant. A mix of banana and stone fruit make up the sweet aspect of the taste, with a lovely spice rounding out the body. It finishes with a bit of fire and herbaceousness reminiscient of the anise and mint from the nose. There is a pleasant bite that tickles the throat, and settles into a hearty glow in the chest. Late in the finish, the taste of the charred oak cask fills the mouth with a pleasant aftertaste. This whiskey is very good neat, and may make an excellent cocktail as well.
