I received a sample of this from @DigitalCork, and I'll save some space here by echoing his sentiments below. "Nice" sums it up - soft and uncomplicated; oak forward without any sharp edges.
For those occasions when I'm in the mood for a kinder, gentler dram, it would do quite nicely. It would also be a great option for someone who's curious about bourbon but hesitant about drinking straight liquor. However, I'm not sure that either of those use cases is compelling enough for me to spend $80-100 for a bottle. Nevertheless, it's not easy to find comparably aged bourbons for less money, and as an easy going bourbon, it has plenty of merit.
Thanks @DigitalCork for the pour!

@dubz480 Your market is preposterous! Some of the prices I’ve seen on your reviews, especially from Costco, are stupendous, given current markups whiskey. Are there just more fair-minded retailers in Arizona? I wonder. I’ve been dreaming of a road trip to AZ just stock up haha.
The cool bottle has to be worth what...$10 on its own. Peel the labels and blam.. decanter
I appreciate you suggestion of sharing this with someone who is curious about bourbon and needs a gentle introduction. It isn't my cup of tea, so it's just taking up space on my shelf and I've been struggling to figure out what to do with it.
hard to find honest thoughts on older American, good writing
Fair review... I do enjoy it when I am looking for a lower proof but flavorful well aged Bourbon... it helps that when available it can be found for $56.99 in my market! cheers!
