From an undisclosed Islay distillery. 25%of the spirit has been finished in first-fill Oloroso sherry octaves.
Nose: Sweet sherry, peat and smoke. A lot of fruit on the nose (apple and apricot)
Palate: Theres the obvious peat, but actually there’s a more prominent fruit sweetness, berries and apples. It’s a chunky taste with a meatiness underneath.
Finish: More sweet apples underneath the short oaky, peaty finish.
Overall, for it’s price point, this is a very impressive dram. It’s what I’d consider a session whisky. Uncomplicated, and easy to drink for a peated whisky. This went down very fast! Lovely!
