Batch #13. I honestly don't understand the reviews by this site or other reviewers. I think maybe you all have blown out your senses smoking cigars. On first taste this was one of the worst whiskeys I have ever had, on par with Wyoming Whiskey early batches. Smoke covering a terribly bitter product. I will say it tasted better after it aired out a bit so I raised a half star and the possibility I have a bad early batch.
I also dont think this site or reviewers take into account value. If I go to a restaurant and a burger is $25, it better be one of the best burgers I've ever had vs expectations on a $10 burger.
The Quiet Man 8yr Double Gold San Francisco Spirits, amazing taste and value, $44.95, 86 this site.
This product, 2yrs (and I'm not age snob, I think product has other issues besides age) $44.95, 91 this site, enough said.

@bourbonman84 Yeah, I haven’t had this one to be honest, but they do things a little different by using mesquite smoke. I’d be interested in trying it, as I’m a bit of a peathead. If you’re looking into sweeter and cheap scotches that won’t break the bank, I’d give Monkey Shoulder a chance. Usually about $30 a bottle.
@Mark-Willis it is true, taste is subjective and peat is not my thing. My favorite scotch is Glengoyne. However, I gave this to a peated scotch drinker and they hated it. They didn't like my Quiet Man either, lol.
Taste, especially when it comes to whiskey, is subjective. Don’t get worked up over something you don’t like. Based on your username it doesn’t surprise me that you don’t like this. Bourbon is sweet. This one is Smokey. I’d imagine you’re not the biggest peat fan either and that’s okay because we all at least lean toward different flavor profiles. What I’d recommend is to not look at the rating and to rather look at the flavor breakdown. Just follow what fits your leanings and not waste any more money on the smokey whiskies.
