Nose: very tight, but opens up into a nice blend of aged wood and leather, kinda like an old old Bible.
Palette: the alcohol is surprisingly subtle in the mouth, instead a chewy oakiness steps up to take the limelight, there is also a noticeable nuttiness skirting around
Finish: the finish is probably the shortest of $20+ whiskeys I've had, but be careful, if you swallow too quickly you'll shove the alcohol into the back of your throat and enjoy a thorough coughing fit
Overall: I expected a massive bruiser of a bourbon but Bakers definitely plays its own elegance well. I got it on sale sub $40, not so sure about it being a value past that mark though.
Update: please please don't add water to this bouton. The brute strength is hardly tamed at all and the finish turns into a miserable crash and burn experience.
