Aged Rum — Barbados

I ran out of my Afrohead 7 year while on vacation. I needed to keep at least one aged rum on hand during summer. I investigated and came home with this... I certainly wish so many of the distilleries would opt for corks like Plantation has. My screw-top bias is really preventing me from trying and buying some good products.
N - light brown sugar, vanilla, a bit of wood, and some of that dry rum funk people go on about.
P - tropical fruits along with caramel start the show. A bit of top of mouth heat and definate orange bitters. Its sweeter than the nose might suggest, but its not a toothache level of sweetness. It is free from some of those fake rum flavors of my youth with Bacardi Silver etc...
F - Crisp and refreshing, but short. It's the kind of finish that makes you reach for another sip almost automatically.
This is not as complex or wide with diminsion as the Afrohead 7 year. However, Plantation 5-year is cheaper and is readily available in NC. So I'll give it the same rating.
