This is much nicer than the standard 100 proof Knob Creek offering. The 9 years mellows the whiskey just the right amount. More complexity of flavor and less harshness, but still not overwhelmingly oaky. I especially liked a cinnamon apple note that I have never noticed in any other Knob Creek offering.
