Back when I started my bourbon tasting it was one of my first bottles and I obviously loved it hence decided to give it a go one more time for memories sake. Now after some more experimenting in higher end bourbons it's just an okay pour not more.. the nose gives to much Acetone which shows that the batch is quite young.. after sitting in a glass for half an hour becomes more subtle and vanilla sweetness and original bourbons smells starts to show.
Nose: Hints of charred oak and cinnamon vanilla a bit of cherry but got to wait a while for them to show up or you can add a drop of water to speed up the process.
Palate: Caramel sweetness, clove, cardamom, corn, peanut brittle and spicy rye.
Finish: A little hint of cinnamon charred oak and citrus on the finish.
Overall score 7 not the worst whiskey but I'd think twice before buying it again there is just so many better ones at this price range. The bottle is super slick and color very promising but.. somewhat deceiving from nose to finish. Knob creek small batch is few bucks cheaper but superior.
