Coloured amber in the glass.
Nose: fresh sea breeze of a cold Scottish day, peat coming through second. Old fashioned sweet shop sweetness, powered sugar hanging in the air.
Palette: smokiness to start, building from a cold smoke flavour to a nutty, rich and chewy oak. Dark chocolate toward the end, leading to a complex finish.
Finish: relatively short bursts of sweetness and richness. Descending to a pleasing warmth and a dry oak rich finish.
Would definitely buy a bottle. Changed my mind on Islay Whisky, would really love to explore an older age statement.
