I’m now giving this a 3.5 only because I feel the value has dropped. At $30 it was easily a 4/5 for taste and value. And it was a easy find on the shelves of my ABC stores. But, like all single barrel whiskies, quality is variable from one batch to the next. The bottle that won in San Francisco a few years ago is from a barrel that no one will ever taste again, so the hype right now based on that one accolade is beyond ridiculous. It’s still a good whiskey but at $45 I usually pass. It was a good run while it lasted.
