Nose – Spicy cinnamon, slight smoky raspberries, leather, grass, little sulfur, roses… Palate – Dark/milk chocolate, espresso, walnuts, hazelnuts, cashews, dates/figs. Green grapes… Medium mouth coat. Finish – A bit short, earthy, gravy-like, malted barley, smoke, cedar wood, dry.. Water – N – Brings chocolate to the nose, mossy grasses, bananas and herbs… P – Brings more spices/black pepper, caliente pepper. F – Bit bland, with some mint. No minerality detected. 4.0 of 5.0 – 60 bucks.

    @Slainte-Mhath I actually prefer the current OB 16 year old Mortlach to the old F&F 16 (although I've not tasted that for almost 10 years now). @Telex Snap. Agree about Blair Athol, and I have a Benrinnes and an Inchgower in the stash. Never tasted the Pittyvaich - I didn't know it was in that range.

    @Telex Rosebank of course, but hard to find and too expensive in these days, then Benrinnes and Blair Athol. I would also like to try the old Mortlach bottling, but it's too expensive as well.

    @Slainte-Mhath yes! What are some of yours faves of the series besides this one? I liked the Blair Athol, Benrinnes, Inchgower, and Pittyvaich too so far.
