@WhiskeyLonghorn Thanks for the comparison. Lag16 is hard to compete with. Since the Lag GoT is at least on par with the 8, it sounds like actually decent VFM. If I saw a bottle of it for $55 I'd probably pick it up to give a try.

@ContemplativeFox the Lag was better than the 8 year bit nowhere close to the 16. It was my second favorite of the bunch but a distant second, though I appreciated the age statement.

@Soba45 That was the one that seemed most appealing to me. It's marked around the price of the 8YO and people seem to like it. I was also mildly interested in the Mortlach, but not for the price.

@WhiskeyLonghorn Lagavulin was my favourite...like a 9 yr take on the classic 16...all way to expensive though!

@Jan-Case I quite liked the Talisker bottling. It found it much better than their usual NAS offerings, and while it isn’t quite the 10 year, it cost about half for a decent VFM. Only GOT bottle I finished.

@ContemplativeFox well, the show is definitively better than the whiskies. Much better in fact. I had around 5 pours of them and the only one I liked (and bought afterwards) was the “Nights Watch” bottle which is a Oban NAS.

I know nothing about GoT, but I appreciate seeing reviews for these LE bottlings. I never expect them to be very good, but I always have to wonder how bad they could be. Seems like they're largely overpriced, but pretty much what you'd expect from the distilleries that make them.
