Since selling their first product in 2004, the Penderyn Distillery has remained the most prominent distillery in the region. Their still is a custom-built copper pot that can reach a staggering 92% ABV on the first run; hence, why Penderyn is one of the few single distilled whiskies from the UK. The Myth is part of the brand's "Welsh Dragon" range of 41% ABV expressions, along with Celt and Legend. It departs from the distillery's house-style of ex-Madeira wine cask-finishing, solely using ex-bourbon American oak to showcase the natural flavors of the whisky without the Madeira wine influence. The whisky is non-chill filtered and bottled at 41% ABV.

Penderyn Myth Welsh Whisky ABV 41%
Sweet corn-smelling (seems to be the distinct character of English whisky), this is more delicate than Penderyn Celt but its quite a lovely softness and floral - peppery on near nosing 3
Apple, pear that are unriped, not much sweetness but a very clean tasting whisky, you get a hint of oak, not much complexity compared to the Celt, slight peppery as well towards the back of the throat 2.25
Oaky, dry - mid sustain 2.25
