Revisiting this on a summer night. Astringent at first but then spearmint, herbal tea, dried oak, brown sugar and ethanol. Medium body and full of pipe tobacco, spearmint, pepper, vanilla and oak char. The finish is lengthy and brings back the tobacco and herbal tea with a bittersweet note. Need to drink this head to head with RR green label single barre rye which I recall having more brown sugar sweetness and less of the oak and earthy notes... to be continued.
