Bought this because I was on a bourbon kick and wanted a scotch that scratched the same itch. It was fine. Just unremarkable. Strong bourbon influence on the nose with dark wood notes and mild spice. Bourbon influence carries through on the palate. Finish is slightly astringent likely due to the oakiness. Mild lingering smoke.
All in all, pretty unremarkable. The flavor profile was simple, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing all the time. My main issue was the fact that the mouthfeel was rather watery. Higher proof might have done the trick here.
I won’t be buying another bottle of this but might recommend it to a die hard bourbon fan looking to experiment with scotch.
