Willett Family Estate Small Batch Rye 4 Year

Rye — Kentucky, USA

Reviewed August 30, 2020
4.5
4.5 out of 5 stars
This and Noah’s Mill are VERY SIMILAR. it’s been about 6 months since i had my Noah’s Mill bottle so i can’t tell you the differences, but i sipped this and it immediately came back to me. The flavor profile is identical. The nose is candied spice. If there was ever such thing as “herbal fruit” this would be it. It’s a mix between rye spice, bourbon spice, and tropical fruit. What makes this better than Noah’s Mill is that it’s got less of a candy flavor to it. I remember after 2-3 glasses of NM i would almost feel sick, like i ate a bag of sugary candy. This Willet Rye brings out those fruity, sweet flavors but balances them perfectly with Rye and Whiskey. All and all this is one of the best bourbons I’ve ever had. This is a more balanced version of Noah’s Mill. If NM is easier to get or cheaper to get i would start there to get an idea of what this is like.
