Started off better than I remembered it. Some depth to the nose and not just alcohol. Palate started off ok with some fruit and carmel undertones but the finish kicks in quick and takes over. Oak, pepper/spice, tannins and alcohol burn. Thought ice would calm that down but that was a big mistake. The ice just dulled the initial palate and amplified the finish. Couldn’t put my finger on it, but almost bitter. Rating as if I stayed neat and will try again soon.
