Rare Perfection 15 Year Cask Strength Canadian Whisky

Nose - vanilla, some rich creme brulee, some metalic awful young whisky or something notes. Some heather and some savory also coming through. A lot of alcohol on this nose.
Taste - Sweet caramel, some kind of canned fruits, spices, and a hell of a lot of alcohol. Water seems to only bring out more alcohol and more heat.
Overall the opening is this really creamy and viscous sweetness that's met with assertive spices and then killed with metallic and youthful alcohol burn. An incredibly disappointing experience for the price and for the age statement.
I'm at a 1.5 as the sweetness is really appealing at first.

@sbleggi I think you hit send too soon buddy.
I
@CKarmios Hahaha I can’t wait for that to drop.
@Anthology You should hold for the Deluxe, Xtra very Rare, Limited Distiller’s Edition 2.0. Names eh?
Wow, for a dram called "Rare Perfection", that's a rough score. I'm really impressed that at 15 years even with water the alcohol was overwhelming. What an epic fail.
@Anthology I can't more strongly state, this isn't worth the price. The 14 I can't commenton and some legit sources liked that one. But yeah....this has some nice quality but not at 150+ bucks. Hard pass
You’re the second trusted source that wasn’t impressed by this dram. @Milliardo also wasn’t a huge fan. I had been eyeing this and the 14yr old with the hope that it may be a batch variation issue and/or oxidation might do wonders for it given the age but now, I’m conclusively going hard pass.
