A whisky with this much press should not have a screw cap. Beer should have a screw cap. Pickles should have a screw cap. Toothpaste should. I read about whisky before I buy it. I study the label and the price. Is it really necessary that I check for a screw top? Does it taste different or can I tell the difference in a glass? Not really. But, honestly, can whisky drinkers really (honestly) tell the difference between Granny Smith apple or pear on the nose? I posit also not really. But it's fun to think we can...and it's fun to pull a cork out of a dram we've been studying before spending precious dollars that we really can't afford. I won't do it again.
