Tasted from sample provided by a friend. An extremely appreciated blend of molasses and funk. Molasses. But also funk. Molasses AND funk! Nose: Aromas of bannana, rich berries and cream, cinnamon, island spices. Taste: Spciy bite on the tongue but delicious, dark sugar, prunes, vanilla bean (deep strong bitter vanilla, not just vanilla extract), and a healthy helping of char. As it opens, the finish gets more dessert-like, and loses a touch of spice and heat as well as overwhelming initial molasses and funk qualities.
