A brisk, easy pour that brings a lot more flavor than one would expect. I get smells of oranges and deeper tones as well, vanilla and caramel. On the palate it doesn't linger, but is bright and sparkly and pleasant. This whiskey is sunshine in a glass. Drink when the weather is dreary and you need a fine Scottish friend to cheer you up. Best consumed with a grilled haddock with a side of mashed potatoes, leeks, and a small rye bread roll.

Thanks for trying this one out! I'm always curious about this store brand because I sometimes see very old statements for shockingly low prices (e.g. 31 YO for $160). It's good to know that they aren't just the worst scotch available with the given age statement, though I know that they use different wood and distilleries for the different age statements, so reader beware that an older Grangestone may not be richer, more mature, or at all similar to a younger one.
