Maker's Mark Private Select MVWOL #4 SiB
54.3% ABV
A new whiskey friend Matt Allen graciously shared a sample of the 4th barrel pick from Miami Valley Water of Life. I waited until today to open this sample, HOWEVER, Brent Sherri Ross gave me a sneak peek last Friday. I found it to be rather yummy and was so excited for another sip tonight.
I don't typically go for wheated bourbons. I am definently a rye spice dude. That said, this is so incredibly yummy.
Great legs and mouthfeel. golden to amber in color.
Nose: Cherries for days, caramel, a little oak,
Palate: oak, a little spice, brown sugar.
Finish: Strong with tastes of chocolate and tobacco.
This is an excellent bourbon. This group does some amazing picks.
4.25/5

@ContemplativeFox MM46 and the Private Selects are the way to go. I'm not much of a traditional MM man either.
Hmm, I usually go for rye over wheat too. I've been disappointed by Maker's in the past, but maybe I should be on the lookout for one of these picks!
