Review for Batch 19: 57.1%.
My first SB CS thus I have no basis for comparison with other batches. What I do know is this is a luscious, meaty and flavorful scotch. Rested for 20mins in my glencairn with a splash of water which brings out a lot of nuanced flavors. Don’t overdo it though it doesn’t need much to open up.
Classic Springbank nose - earthy vegetal peat, light tobacco smoke, and dried fruit. Smells like sea air oddly enough. Cigars on a beach? Bit of sweet brown sugar that takes the edge off the peaty leathery notes.
So many flavors on the palate. Sweet and savory. Dark dried fruits. Funky peat. Limestone. A sense that something has mildly turned. It’s the Springbank Hinted at by the 10 but full in the face. Lingers on the tongue and in the chest. I could sip and smell this all night.

@ContemplativeFox Not a problem. I’ll let my bottle breathe for a while before reviewing, so I probably won’t get around to it for another month or two anyway. Appreciate it!
Wish I could tell you right now @ctbeck11 , but since I'm out of town, I can't check the bottle. I'll be happy to though when I get back :)
@ngolofane I recently got a bottle of this batch, but haven’t cracked it yet. Your review makes me want to open it ASAP. I’m really enjoying the Springbanks recently. By the way, @ContemplativeFox from which batch is your bottle? I’d like to compare them side by side, once I get around to reviewing them.
@cascode I'm sorry to hear that. This is one of my favorites, but it's gone up in price 40+% in the past year, so I'm nursing my bottle.
Thanks to the pandemic we seemed to have missed out on an allocation of batch 19 🥺
Nice review sounds great
