Nose: obviously sherried, dark fruit, brown sugar, a little marzipan, despite the ABV only a slight hint of alcoholic sharpness, slightly weedy, woody
Body: extremely thick, spicy, cinnamon, fire, mouth coating and very tannic
Palate: wow, a massive sherry bomb—not expecting that after the last Daftmill I had. Very well balanced, the alcohol does not overpower. Very rich, cinnamon, dark chocolate. A bit of prune or date. Dundee cake. Slightly nutty.
Finish: mouth-coating and long, woody, a little charred but certainly not smoky, an excellent finish
Completely unexpected— is is on the same footing as Amrut PX or Aberlour A’bunadh. Very nice
