I can only draw parallels to the beer world since I’m newer to whisky. Barrel proofs are awesome - much like a double IPA or imperial stout. But this to me is like your favorite pale ale. Still tons of flavor - smooth and creamy. Just not as overpowering as a barrel proof offering. Love this bottle from Michter’s.
