Laphroaig Quarter Cask
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland

Nose: smoke, bacon, sea salt, rosemary, white pepper, brine, oak, pencil sharpenings
(On second dram the shock of the smoke dies away and citrus fruits show up first: citrusy apple, lemon, pear, apricots)
Palate: decaying vegetables, spice, salt spray, fire
Finish: campfire, malt, long and very dry tail
I particularly enjoy peated whiskies, so this is a new favourite of mine. Less smokey than the Lagavulin 16, but matches it with strong flavours from the small butt.
