I first rolled the LL12 out at a tasting with friends. After 20+ years of tastings, this one shocked us all. If one were blindfolded and knew nothing about it, one would think that this is an exceptional $100 bottle of whisky. I won't go through the tasting details here, just know this: my friends rushed out and cleaned out the local supply the next day. Weeks later, we did a head-to-head between the LL12 and the LL15. Don't waste the extra money on the 15, as it is good, but the 12 is better. I would score it a 4 for nose, taste, finish, etc., but for value it bumps up to a 4.5. It is the BEST value in the market at present, with nary a close second.

@DrRHCMadden @Ctrexman I’m also no great fan of Loch Lomond, apart from their bottom shelf Reserve blend and the Original. Tastes differ - meh. I seriously doubt there would be different batch formulations of their stuff for export. The batch numbering of Aussie and UK bottlings appears to be identical, from what I can see.
@Ctrexman not as far as I am aware. I’ve had two 12s two 18s and two originals. Original is average. 12 and 18 are honestly dishwater IMO. @cascode is the person that would know whether the liquid is different regionally…
@DrRHCMadden You musta got a bad bottle this stuff is nails though I see y'all in Aus and NZ bangin on this maybe you are getting a different product
@Ctrexman I would have no trouble in disagreeing entirely. Possibly the worst dram of 2022 for me.
I have a hard time disagreeing
