Watching the All Blacks vs Australia rugby with mates in an old mans sports bar and saw this on the shelf and thought worth having a crack.
I tried it neat first. The ice dulled the flavour somewhat but still very oily flavourful dram. Sadly only Schweppes tonic to mix but still held up ok. Much preferred drinking straight. 4.25 straight, 3.75 with tonic. Need to try with East Imperial.

@cascode M47 with Fever Tree 👏
@cascode Will do cheers for the recommendation!
@cascode Yes I'd agree with that list for those I've had. I noted Herno in the same bar so next time I'm there..:-)
@ContemplativeFox Not in any order (they're all excellent) Monkey 47, Dingle, Method & Madness, Cotswolds, McHenry Federation, Aviation, Never Never Juniper Freak, Herno, Loch The Weaver, Scapegrace Gold - and Roku for a budget pick.
"one of my top 10". Checks - @cascode has over 700 tastings and presumably many are gin. What are the other 9 though?
Good gin, for sure - one of my top 10, but not #1. @Soba45 Try it with the original Fever Tree Indian Tonic, that's the best match I've found. (although I bet with East Imperial would be spectacular too).
@WhiskyWitch Yes I'd love to try it again with a few decent tonics.
@ContemplativeFox They actually have a few decent whiskies as well. Nothing fancy but all the stds e.g. Laphroaig 10. I think it's because you get all the old gamblers betting on the races both male and female who love a dram and g&t!
Yeah, it blows most other gins out of the water! @WhiskyWitch
Oh, haha! I bet they bought the bottle of Monkey and regretted it as nobody bought any for years! @Soba45
This is hands-down the greatest gin I've ever tried, although just a sample. I need to get a bottle someday to actually review it.
@ContemplativeFox Given the type of bar it was i was surprised they just didn't have only Gordon's gin!
That's disappointing that all they had was schweppes to go with Monkey
