Dewar's 12 Year The Ancestor (Discontinued)
Blended — Scotland

Nose - lemon, pineapple, honey, apple, sweet vanilla, toffee, fungal note, mild ethanol burn.
Taste - honey, green apple, lemon, vanilla, toffee, chocolate, sweet floral notes, mild alcohol bite, finishing moderately long with sweet and sour fruit and chocolate flavors.
This is an improvement on the White Label offering. The flavors are richly sweet and well balanced. There is a mildly fungal off note on the nose, but it fortunately doesn’t transfer to the taste.

I feel you there @CKarmios . That always slips my mind as well, a lot like how I forget that JW Black is similarly 12 YO :P
@ContemplativeFox Ha, d’you know, I never thought of White Label as a 12-year old before
@cascode Thanks for the insight! @ctbeck11 There are often regional differences in products for sure and it's not uncommon for a rebranding to come with changed contents, so I would not be at all surprised to find that there is some difference between this and white label.
@cascode Thanks for clearing this up. I scanned the web, but can’t seem to find any reference, although this design isn’t one that I see displayed on their site. Nevertheless, it seems this is a good case study for me to understand how differences in packaging and/or tasting conditions can yield different subjective results.
@ContemplativeFox Design change in some regions, that's all. We still get the old rectangular bottle out here and it's identical.
I've never even seen this bottle around. I thought the white was already 12 YO. Do you happen to know what the difference is?
