There is a softness to the nose on this that I directly associate with Cognac. There's a light spice underlying the nose that gives this a cola-like quality. I do get a slight unpleasant chemical like quality in the nose on the back end that reminds me of adhesive spray used for putting down new floors.
Wow that's delicious. Notes of chocolate, milk chocolate, tobacco, dark chocolate, and table sugar. Kind of like frozen hot chocolate, already sweetened. If I think mint chocolate chip ice cream while I drink this, the flavors also conform to that image. There is a chalkiness to the mouthfeel that is very on message with the flavor. Yes, this is bourbon, but I don't get a lot of the flavors I traditionally associate with bourbon. Nonetheless, I'm not really complaining. it does drink a slight bit lighter than its proof, although 100 proof is certainly not high
Surprisingly, I don't get a lot of fruit from this. The flavor is light-hearted, but I wouldn't describe it as bright

Leather and sweet tobacco bomb.......delicious. This I think is best for an experienced palate
@ContemplativeFox we used this in a blind taste testing last night with about 50 attendees. Samples were tasted in order, but tasters had no idea what the product was. The Magnus did really poorly. In order, the samples were 1) smoke wagon straight, 2) Legent, 3) Magnus, and 4) Dovetail Dovetail was almost unanimously the favorite
We'd have to get the official word from @WhiskeyBlender to be sure, but I suspect that there's a lot more oloroso than PX in this. I definitely get a lot more leather, tobacco, and chocolate than fruit from this (and I love it!). I can't say I got any adhesive spray or chalkiness though.
