Nose - butterscotch hard candy, clove, cardamom, leather tobacco, black pepper, moderate to high ethanol burn.
Taste - butterscotch hard candy, rye spice (but not as dominant as in the other expressions), cardamom, caramel, dry vanilla, leather, tobacco, moderate to high alcohol bite, finishing medium length with butterscotch, tobacco, and tannic leather flavors.
This is my favorite of the three, but not by much. I think their offerings will be much more enticing once they’re able to consistently release older products.

Yeah, I enjoy the barely legal ones, but I'd like to see more high rye mashbills. I've got plenty of bourbon and these are the ryes that really set it apart as its own category.
@ContemplativeFox Absolutely. I do appreciate that they’re using a 100% rye mash bill though. I feel there’s a tremendous about of competition in the barely legal ryes, but not many that are priced reasonably with a 100% rye make-up. Long term, I think there will be more interest in these spicier, less sweet whiskies. I’ve been using New Riff rye in my Old Fashioneds recently and love it.
Sounds like they did pretty well for something under 2 years old, but there's only so much they can do with such a young whiskey.
