Initially very demure with a similar aroma profile of the 12-year: plenty of vanilla, cream, and orange citrus fruit. However, as this bottle opened over several days, the nose was completely taken over by a dark, bready, musty, mushroom and teak wood aroma fitting of a stuffy library. Coupled with an abundance of figs, dates, cinnamon, and walnuts. Soft and smooth on the palate with a peppery alcohol pop on the finish not found in the 12 or 15yr. Save your money on two bottles of 12 and buy one bottle of 18.
