If you’ve had a few bottles of HP12 and are looking to step up to the HP18 but don’t like the nearly $200 price tag, grab a bottle of this. In my area it’s around $95. All of the typical HP fruity, peaty, spicy notes you get on the 12, but with the ABV turned up to 46% it has that extra bite, a longer finish, and seems a little more complex on the palate. Handles water quite well if you want to turn down the tongue tingle, but it really drinks more like a 43ABV so doesn’t need it IMO.

I agree. I tried a lot of the HP expressions next to the regular age statements - and this one was actually the only one I liked. Very much in between the 12y and the 18y. Later on I also got the other 16y Wings of the Eagle which for me also is a proper competitor for the 18y. It also has a higher ABV (44.3%) and has a bigger sherry portion.
