The nose of the bourbon is spicy with a hint of cinnamon, clove, and allspice. There is a sweet note of butterscotch as well.
On the tongue, the whiskey is sweet and spicy. After a sweet hit of vanilla it transitions to a nutty experience. The spice of the drink comes out between the body and the finish. There is just a hint of peppercorn in the finish as well.
Overall, it is quite delicious. The spice of the bourbon is excellent. It balances the sweet very well, and settles into a warm glow in the chest. The peppercorn of the finish evolves into a bit of a woody aftertaste.
Best enjoyed neat, though perhaps a drop or two of water might further open up the flavor profile. I would not spoil this whiskey by mixing it.
