This is a pretty great version of a heavily peated whisky from Islay. I love the nose, yummy bbq sweet meat and salty savory note, mixed in with peat. It’s like a Smokey bladhoch 10, another favoratire of mine. I love that this peat is more peat than smoke. The taste is quite oily, it’s also smooth. I have to go back to it but I think this is more savory than sweet, and the taste is more smoky than peat. Smooth finish. Next to talisker 10, this smells similar, but I think it’s got more flavor thanks to the higher alcohol content. Need to revisit it sgsin and sign, but for right now, flavor complexity wise it’s not as complex as ardbeg. This can change in the future.
