Then, Angel’s Envy announces the second whiskey in its Cellar Collection: Angel’s Envy Bourbon Finished in Tawny Port Wine Barrels. Meanwhile, Kilbeggan is releasing a single pot still whiskey to the US. Then, Irish Distillers unveils Jameson St. Patrick’s Day Edition 2020, a limited-edition packaging with interactive technology elements. Also, Courvoisier is joining the club of unique finishes with its Avant-Garde Bourbon Cask Edition. Additionally, Glenfiddich, Woodinville and Hendrick’s all have new limited releases. Finally, the McConnell’s Irish Whisky brand is being brought back to life after more than 60 years with a new release.
LVMH Launches Glenmorangie The Cadboll Estate 15 Year
Glenmorangie The Cadboll Estate 15 Year is the very first single estate whisky that Glenmorangie has ever released. The whisky is made using barley grown at Glenmorangie’s 440 acre Cadboll Estate estate in the Scottish Highlands. It ages for 15 years in first-fill American oak ex-bourbon barrels and, following chill-filtration, it is bottled at 43% ABV.
“I’m thrilled to be sharing our first single estate whisky, Glenmorangie The Cadboll Estate. I have personally guided every aspect of this whisky’s journey from grain to glass, right here at Glenmorangie,” says Dr. Bill Lumsden, Glenmorangie’s director of whisky creation, distilling & whisky stocks.
Glenmorangie The Cadboll Estate 15 Year is available in the US, Canada and Mexico as of March 2020 for a suggested price of $85 per 750ml bottle.

Angel’s Envy Announces Second Whiskey In Cellar Collection
This week Angel’s Envy announced the release of Angel’s Envy Bourbon Finished in Tawny Port Wine Barrels. This release is the second in the brand’s Cellar Collection, following its Oloroso Sherry Finish release in 2019. This bourbon starts as 10 year Kentucky straight bourbon and then finishes for 10 months in former tawny port wine barrels. Only 5,400 bottles of this limited-edition whiskey are available.
Bottled at 55.8% ABV, this bourbon carries a suggested price of $249.99 per 750ml bottle. As of February 8th, 2020 it will be available at select retailers in Kentucky, California, Florida, Illinois, New York and Tennessee, as well as at the Angel’s Envy distillery in downtown Louisville.
Kilbeggan Distillery Introduces Single Pot Still
Single pot still whiskey is unique to Ireland and uses both malted and unmalted barley in its makeup (30% of each required). But up to 5% of other grains are allowed. This Kilbeggan Single Pot Still bottling features 2.5% oats in its makeup in addition to the malted and unmalted barley. It was double distilled in copper pot stills then matured in ex-bourbon barrels for 8-9 years. This is the second limited edition release to be entirely distilled and matured at the Kilbeggan Distillery, which was restored in 2010. It is available in the US as of February 2020 with an SRP of $44.99.

Jameson Unveils Limited Edition 2020 St. Patrick’s Day Bottle
In 2012 Jameson started a tradition of releasing a limited-edition bottle for St. Patrick’s Day. Jameson St. Patrick’s Day Edition 2020 contains standard Jameson whiskey inside the bottle, while the label is designed by Dublin-based designer & illustrator Hephee (Stephen Heffernan).
Additionally, the bottle has a special NFC chip and QR code on the label that allows customers to create their own customized labels through hidden icons; also designed by Hephee.

Courvoisier debuts the first Avant-Garde Edition
Courvoisier Avant-Garde Bourbon Cask Edition is a limited edition release from the brand and the first expression in its Avant-Garde series. Master Blender Patrice Pinet and Master Distiller Benoît DeSutter created the blend by first selecting VS cognac. They then finished the VSOP in former Kentucky bourbon barrels.
As cognac regulations limit used barrels aside from cognac to wine or fortified wine, this spirit cannot be called cognac. Bottled at 80 proof, Avant-Garde Bourbon Cask Edition has an SRP of $39.99 and is available now.

Glenfiddich Releases Two New Limited Vintage Casks in Rare Collection
Glenfiddich 1975 Vintage Cask 4706 and Cask 5114 make up the third release in the brand’s Rare Collection Series which was first introduced in the 1990s. These releases are made up of casks that were reserved and hand selected by Glenfiddich Malt Master Brian Kinsman. These casks are exclusive to the United States and produced 100 bottles each.
First laid down in 1975 in the Glenfiddich distillery warehouses, both whiskies aged for 44 years. Cask 4706 is a European oak sherry butt. Cask 5114 is a European oak hogshead. 4706 is bottled at 48% ABV while 5114 is bottled at 54.7% ABV. Each 750ml bottle carries a suggested retail price of $8,999.99.
Woodinville Announces Two Limited-Edition Distillery-Only Whiskeys
To celebrate its tenth year in operation, Woodinville Whiskey is releasing two limited-edition distillery-only whiskeys. The first is a 45.5% ABV blended whiskey called Woodinville Triple Barrel Blended Whiskey. It first ages in new heavy-toasted, lightly charred American oak barrels. It is then re-barreled into used bourbon barrels. Finally it is placed in to Ardbeg Scotch barrels. This release carries an SRP of $69.95.
The second whiskey is Woodinville Bottled-in-Bond Straight Bourbon Whiskey, which is aged for five years in heavily charred new American oak barrels. Priced at $59.95, it carries an ABV of 50%.

Hendrick’s Launches Lunar Gin in UK
Following the release of Hendrick’s Midsummer Solstice in the brand’s Cabinet of Curiosities line is Hendrick’s Lunar Gin. Bottled at 43.4%, it has an SRP of £35 (~$45 US) per 700ml bottle. The bottle is available as of February 2020 at Harvey Nichols followed by a wider distribution push across the UK.
Conecuh Brands Relaunches McConnell’s Irish Whisky 5 Year
First established in Belfast in 1776, McConnell’s Irish Whisky claims to be the oldest whisky brand from Ireland. The brand went dormant in the late 1950s, but has now been revived by Conecuh Brands. The whisky in the bottle is produced by Great Northern Distillery in County Louth while the brand awaits the opening of its own distillery in Belfast. Inside the bottle is an Irish blend that aged for 5 years in American oak. Bottled at 42% ABV, it carries an SRP of $32.99.
