Dalmore 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, ScotlandTastedA decent scotch for their standard; sweet, caramel, vanilla, not Smokey, has a burn in the back. Amber color with a strong alcohol scent in front, but opens nicely to a sweeter vanilla taste later. Opens up with a few drops of water.
Johnnie Walker Blue Label
Peated Blend — ScotlandTastedSmooth, yes. Better than other JWs, yes. Tastes ashey, cigarette ashey, not for me. This is the tops, so I’m out on JW.
Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey
Flavored Whiskey — USATastedWouldn’t call it peanut butter, more caramel and walnut. Pretty sweet, more than any old fashion. Great one time drink, unique, but not a sipper. Too sweet, better mixed into other drinks.
Oregon Spirit Bourbon
Bourbon — Bend, Oregon, USATastedMoose brought this, a little aggressive in the beginning and end, but sweet and balanced in the middle. Notes of Apple and peach.
The Glenlivet Nàdurra Peated Whisky Cask Finish Cask Strength
Peated Single Malt — Speyside, ScotlandTastedThe scotch that got me into scotch l, haven’t found anything like it since, will have to find it again and update. Bilu brought it for my bday.
Jose Cuervo Reserva de la Familia Tequila
Tequila Extra Añejo — Tequila Valley, Jalisco, MexicoTastedThe best tequila I’ve ever tasted. It tasted less like tequila and more like a well balanced, rich, slightly vanilla whiskey. Great post dinner drink as a desert, worth every dollar!
Dalwhinnie 15 Year
Peated Single Malt — Highlands, ScotlandTastedSlightly sweet and smiley upfront, definitely scotch flavored but subtly and in the back. Lightly golden yellow color. 3 drops of water opens it up well, takes off the edge.
Wolcott Kentucky Bourbon
Bourbon — Louisville KY, USATastedMoms house, Moose brought it: Great bourbon, sweet, honey and cherry nose, little bit of smoke. Mostly smooth, sweet taste, hints of cherries and honey. Fun sipper, no ice.
The Glenlivet 15 Year French Oak Reserve
Single Malt — Speyside, ScotlandTastedThis was the straight 15, not French oak, had it at Eddie Vs on my bday: Fairly smooth, ok sweetness, opens up better with a few drops of water
Laphroaig 10 Year
Peated Single Malt — Islay, ScotlandTastedEddie Vs on my bday: Oaky peaty scent, smooth start and peaty taste, little Smokey, hint of sweetness, scotchy finish (not great, not horrible). Great intro to peated scotch.
