What a phenomenal bourbon! It hits every note I’m looking for in a glass of Maker’s Mark. The regular Maker’s is my daily drinker. I find the 46 a little overpowering with an woody taste. This has a vanillic taste that smooths it out. Perfect amount of heat.

I picked up a bottle on sale. Barreled in 2009, bottled in 2018. Can’t go wrong for a single barrel under $30. What I had was incredibly oaky and that muted any other tasting notes. Overall verdict: Glad I tried, but would probably not buy again.

It’s like being kicked in the throat by Seabiscuit, followed by hopping on his saddle and riding him to victory at the Kentucky Derby!

First sip can turn you off. The young age is certainly present. Sip two and beyond really opens it up. I’m typically not a Chivas Regal drinker, however the Mizunara Oak is certainly present in the finish. This gives this Whisky a unique taste that is only present in some Japanese Whiskies.

Good nose, not too much of an alcohol smell for 100 proof. Goes down smooth with a slight burn at the end that quickly fades to the good ol’ bourbon finish.
