Feels simple. Caramel, cherry, vanilla, quintessential bourbon notes. Frankly tastes a bit thin, especially at 45%. In my opinion, it’s a good bourbon at its MSRP of 25-30 dollars, but is vastly overhyped. I’d never pay over MSRP for this, nor would I go to more than one store looking for it. Great whiskey to mix or use in cocktails, but don’t let yourself be fooled into spending over $50 for this bottle when there are many bottles like a four roses, larceny, 1792, etc. that you can get first without paying that much.

First whiskey I ever bought and had. Briney, citrus, and a sentimental bottle to me. I’d buy this year again if I could ever find it at MSRP. I paid about 65 bucks for it back in 2019, and frankly there may be better bottles at that price range, but if you like this distillery, it is a great expression and feels worth its price.

Eagle Rare 10 Year Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 19, 2022 (edited September 30, 2022)Best value in the Buffalo Trace lineup in my opinion. Low burn, caramel, sweet, some cherry, brown sugar. dense pallet. I’m more of a scotch fan, but this bourbon is worth grabbing at it’s MSRP of $30. I don’t feel it is worth the challenge of getting it, and I wouldn’t pay secondary prices for it. At the rate I go through bourbon, I’d rather spend up on money and grab something a bit more expensive, a bit higher proof, and something I know I can find it when I want it. -
Bruichladdich Black Art 1992 9.1 Edition 29 Year
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed August 19, 2022 (edited November 18, 2022)Incredibly fruity, like apples, pears, melon. Best whiskey I’ve ever had. Sherry notes, incredibly dense in flavor, long finish. Don’t let the low proof fool you, that is because of the age. Oily mouth feel, with an incredibly dense flavor because of the 29 years. Worth a pour at any price to try once
