Starward Fortis
Single Malt — South Australia, Australia
Reviewed December 23, 2021 (edited April 28, 2022)Nose is very strong makes your nose hairs rise. Has some leather and a little vanilla. Pallette has some sweet fruits and maybe a little sour in addition to a caramel flavor that turns into a a strong warming burn that lingers a bit. Overall this is a pretty good whisky, but not for the faint of heart, has some nice flavor to it. -
Westland American Oak American Single Malt
American Single Malt — Washington , USA
Reviewed December 22, 2021Nose is very strong and pleasant, it has a bit of coffee and vanilla. Palette is smooth with a hint of coffee that turns into an oakiness and the finish has a bit of smokiness/spiciness that becomes a quick warm burn, which dissipates and leaves a taste of coffee in your mouth. Overall this is pretty good, I love the smell and the initial palette, but I feel that the lingering of the coffee bat the end will weigh on me over the course of this tasting. -
Teeling Single Malt Irish Whiskey
Single Malt — Ireland
Reviewed December 20, 2021 (edited May 21, 2022)Nose vanilla and fruit. Palette has some fruit flavor that turns into a spicy/oakey/smokey finish with a soft warm burn. -
Nose has some brown sugar and vanilla and maybe some fruit. Pallette is a smooth brown sugar with some oak that turns into a harsh warm burn that lingers for a bit and even makes my lips tingle. Overall this is a pretty good whisky, brown sugar flavor is nice, definitely reminds me of a Canadian whisky.

Nose is a bit of vanilla and some oak. Pallette is some oakiness, with a hint of white grape/white wine flavor and then a bit of spiciness and bite. Finish is a light burn that lingers a bit. Over this is not a bad rye with an interesting white wine flavor mixed in that comes out more as I drink it.

Bain's Cape Mountain Whisky
Single Grain — Western Cape, South Africa
Reviewed December 16, 2021 (edited May 25, 2022)Nose is hard to pull out much definitely has a grain alcohol smell. Pallette is some caramel and toffee that turns into a nice mild burn. It's a pretty good whisky but lacks the depth that some of the other whisky's have. -
Nose is of apple and toffee/caramel. Pallette is fairly fruity and sweet almost like candy that turns into a Woody finish with a slightly harsh burn that lingers for a little bit. Overall this whisky is pretty good, has a nice balance of sweetness and a little bit of depth. It has grown in me over the course of the tasting as a good holiday whisky
