Tastes

A wheated bourbon with the same mash bill as Old Fitz, this bourbon is very enjoyable. On the nose, though I get a more apparent wheat aroma than I prefer, there is some nice caramel and blood orange that peaks through. The first sip is marked by an intermingling of banana and citrus, rounded out by some nice spiciness. The finish is medium in length with a nice coating texture.

An extremely well rounded bourbon, the Weller SR begins with hints of apple, floral honey, and vanilla on the nose. The first sip is marked by sweet vanilla and caramel apple. This bourbon is not very hot, sitting at a 90 proof, and doesn't bite much as it finishes with more notes of vanilla, oak, and ends with some honey. For the price, this is a banger. Unfortunately, it's rarity is growing, and so soon shall the price. Stock up!
